I had worked with Energy Navigator as an external consultant for a number of years but always felt I could do more for them. When I joined the company as Director of Marketing in 2014, I finally got my chance.
I began with a comprehensive integrated marketing plan for Canadian and U.S. markets (which later expanded to Asia-Pacific with the opening of a Brisbane office). My strategy leveraged the incredible technical knowledge and subject matter expertise the company had in its senior engineering staff. I revamped product branding and key messages, produced sales support materials, launched the company's first blog, increased media relations efforts, devised a digital marketing strategy with SEM, and totally revamped the trade show marketing program.
The results:
- $1 million new sales revenues annually despite industry downturn
- 250% increase in website traffic and length of stay/pages visited
- 300% increase in website conversions (20+ demo requests per month)
- 500% increase in social media followers, 2-4% overall engagement
- Went from 0 to 800+ blog subscribers in 1.5 years
- 1000+ downloads of gated content in 2 years
- Averaged 6 feature articles and 3 guest editorials per year in industry pub’s
- Arranged 25+ speaking engagements per year by in-house SME’s
- Significant coverage for Brisbane, Australia office opening
